Outstanding K-8 Educator Award given to Meredith Cheetham
Meredith Cheetham won the Outstanding K-8 Educator Award in Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education in collaboration with her colleague Sonja McKay. This award recognizes a North Carolina K-8 educator who excels in fulfilling the mission of the North Carolina Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education Center. The mission of the SMT Center is to systematically improve performance in science, mathematics, and technology education as a means of providing all children in North Carolina with the necessary knowledge and skills in science, mathematics, and technology to have successful careers, be good citizens, and advance the economy of the state. Swim Across America is coming to Cary
Cancer is a scourge that affects a huge number of people each year in the US. It affects people of all ages and genders. We have swimmers within RAM that have been affected. RAM has decided to team up with the Triangle Aquatic Center and others to increase awareness of cancer and to host two events to raise funds for research toward a cure for cancer. 100% of all funds raised will be used for cancer research. None will be used for administrative expenses.

April 25-29th, 2012 - USMS Short Course Yards Championships - Greensboro
This past April saw a good turn out from RAM and North Carolina. Nationals in Greensboro was outstanding and there were some awesome swims. A good time was had by all. The results of the meet are over and the results are available at the USMS web site. All North Carolina results can be printed. To make things easier for RAM members, the RAM swimmers can be found here.
Triangle Open Water Swim Series
There are several open water swims scheduled for North Carolina this summer. The series is sponsored by the Triangle Open Water mile group and details may be found at the following web site Triangle Open water swims info.. There are several swims schedule, beginning the month of May. If you have an interest in open water swims, this is a good site to remember.
