US Masters Coaching Certification Clinic

By: Marty Gaal, Coaches Chair

The LMSC for North Carolina has agreed to host a US Masters Coaching Certification Clinic (Levels 1 and 2) on Saturday, March 17 in Charlotte. Each class is 4 hours, so you can complete both in one day of training. After completion you would be Level 1 and 2 certified for USMS and ASCA.

Please visit this link for all the details and to enroll in the clinic.

Please let your assistant coaches and your team members know. There are plenty of benefits to this sort of certification - such as increasing your knowledge and skills for coaching, helping you identify new opportunities for team/swimmer development, networking, and improving your swim coaching resume / team marketability.

Reimbursement policy:
The North Carolina Board would like to encourage as many of our coaches as possible to attend this clinic. In this spirit, the NC board is offering full tuition reimbursement ($120 for both classes or $70 per class) and partial travel expense reimbursement to the first twenty-four (24) NC member applicants. This reimbursement offer is open to all North Carolina US Masters Swimming coaches and swimmers. (The clinic is open to all USMS members).

As a reciprocal gesture, we would like to encourage each NC coach who accepts this offer to host a Masters stroke/swim clinic in your town at your convenience at a future point. The LMSC would publicize your new certification and your clinic in the regular monthly newsletter.

The travel reimbursement is as follows:

0-100 miles roundtrip = $20

101-225 roundtrip = $40

226-350 roundtrip = $60

351+ roundtrip = $100

Register first, then email me (Marty Gaal, Coaches Chair LMSC of NC, ) if you would like reimbursement. Offer is first-come, first-served.

Additional Details:
You need to be a member of USMS to participate, and an ASCA member to earn credit for the classes (ASCA membership is $70 yearly).
Maximum enrollment is 40.
